Professional has all features of Professional and below. Automation has all features in Automation, and below. Enterprise Automation has all the features of BarTender available. The editions are all different in regard to what features they have available to them. This edition is a "Network" based license, meaning you need to have the "Seagull License Server" application installed some where on your network this application monitors and regulates the printing from your BarTender clients. The two higher editions use different licensing Unlimited users but are restricted to the amount of printers. The first two are single-user simultaneous activation, meaning can only be activated on 1 PC at any given time, however these licenses are also unlimited printer licenses. We have 4 editions of BarTender Basic, Professional, Automation, Enterprise Automation. In my opinion this is far more flexible than buying an application "by the seat" which makes no money if that "seat" is not in use. As long as printer use is infrequent you should be ok with some percentage of the total users you have in mind. Any printer used will be put on the license server (Seagull monitoring app) but will drop back off after seven days of non-use. However if, like us, you need to install the bartender application onto each client site (due to confidentiality reasons) and have only a small volume of barcodes being printed, by a number of users, to a number of printers, the application appears to be extremely expensive!Īm I misunderstanding something here or is this correct? Unfortunately it appears that the bartender pricing structure is set up in such a way that it would be prohibitive in terms of cost.įrom what I can see bartender is very cost effective if you would like to print hundreds of thousands of different labels on behalf of lots of clients from one server to one printer. Dear all, we are looking to use bartender to help our clients create and print a variety of barcode labels for their files which are held around their offices.
